RRaina Singhvi Jain Founder, beekeeper & research scientist

Raina Singhvi Jain started keeping bees in high school and has not stopped since. After visiting a local apiary and seeing piles of dead bees, she spent her junior year inventing HiveGuard, a patented hive entrance coated in a plant-based compound that transfers to the bees and targets the Varroa mite, the parasite behind much of the global honeybee collapse. It cut infestations by roughly 70% in testing and went on to be used by more than 40% of beekeepers nationwide.

She founded Queen Bee, co-founded with NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor, to bring raw honey and royal jelly into daily wellness. She formulates every shot herself and sources from small-scale beekeepers. Whole Foods was the first retailer, and the brand is now sold in 4,000+ stores nationwide. Every bottle funds pollinator habitat.

Raina earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Connecticut, then left two weeks in to accept a Thiel Fellowship and build full time. Her work has been featured by Forbes and CNN, and MIT's Lincoln Laboratory named an asteroid, 34730 Rainajain, in her honor.
